Art project: Identity; Process Portfolio Screens

This project is about our identity and what we understand ourselves to show the audience who I am.

As the project is about I try to use some symbols and things that can be related and introduce myself.

Using a mirror, draw my own face in a sketchbook with full shading and correct proportions.

Practicing the value and shading control and being familiar with my own face and also focusing on the facial features details.

To explore my identity and ideas to put in my composition

After l made the list I try to put things together and I try multiple ways to show, I was thinking about showing my personality and belief on the view. So I did some thumbnail sketches in the sketchbook. And it came out well, I decided to make like of surrealistic with my ideas.

4. I took these photos, using different faces to show happiness and excitement which I think is part of my identity that I want to show in the composition, I lay in the bathtub, and also try to use dark and light to see the effect of the picture.

The overall feeling I want to be dynamic so I took some pictures from the bathtub and also experienced drawing in watercolor.

Those are the pictures of color testing in faces, water waves and goldfish. I think it is too dark and the shape also doesn’t look like me, I realized that it’s because of the nose and that shadow is too dark, and I didn’t look at myself during the drawing.

The media I choose is watercolor because watercolor is not like other media, it has a special characteristic is it will stun with water, you can’t really control, you don’t know what it will be until it dry, I think that is excited and in the other word watercolor is also drawing by itself, as present my identity and due to the characteristics present so I experiencing the color and drawing faces.

I use one of the pictures I took in the bathtub and two goldfish around my head and use little waves, Considering the feeling overall I try to use the bright color,s and also when I use blue I try to add some purple and red to make the scene not too cold and took some more picture of moving water and bubble and draw beside my face on the composition to promote and emphasize dynamic of the view.
